The Lip Bar

In 2012, I launched The Lip Bar because I was incredibly frustrated with the beauty industry. I had so many questions.  Why were most cosmetics filled with unnecessary chemicals? Why did lipsticks only come in a limited range of colors? And more importantly, why was the depiction of beauty so damn linear?   Everywhere I looked beauty companies, magazines and the TV were telling women that you need to look like a specific thing to be considered beautiful. I hated that. So I started making lipstick in my kitchen because I believed beauty shouldn't compromise health and because I was determined to not change the way I looked to fit into some superficial or trendy beauty standard.
